My Macbook pro In clamshell mode

After i got my macbook pro, my almost new LG LCD monitor was gathering dust, what a waste i thought, i imagined that mac os x will look great in the 19" monitor and frankly speaking surfing the web on a laptop is not very nice on the eyes.

I went down to parkway parade and went to the apple store at best denki and bought the mini display to dvi wire for $44 bucks, came back home connected the the wire to my LG monitor and bingo I have dual screen now

But i wanted only one screen that is my mac screen to close, so i got in touch with mac support and they send me the instructions to me via my email, I followed the instructions and voila, just closing my laptop lid and pressing my mouse activated the LG monitor as my default screen, but the macbook has to be connected to the main power, it won't work if you just use the battery power.

I had an external usb mouse and was considering if i should buy and external keyboard and lo and behold what a surprise i got when i open my laptop lid and found my keyboard illuminated but the laptop screen remained off, just what i needed, now there was no need to get an additional keyboard.

Now i have the best of both worlds :)

Finally my very own macbook Pro

blogging from my very own macbook pro, i bought it when apple singapore store offered an ipod touch free for those who buy with education discount, so i made use of the opportunity to get myself the 13" macbook pro and got the 8GB ipod touch free! yippee!!!

The macbook has been a joy to use, its keyboard is so wonderful that i felt that i had to type something and i remembered that i had a blog so bingo, here i am.

The best part is my macbook pro was shipped with the latest snow leopard Mac OS, its smooth as silk, the startup and shutdown time is so fast, I just can't believe it, my old PC was taking about 10 mins to start up, it seemed like ages, but now its so fast.

being new to the mac OS, its taking some time getting used to it, but hey , its an user friendly OS, My 4 year old son can operate the Ipod touch on his own, watching youtube videos and playing games, the great irony being not one song has been uploaded into the Ipod yet, but i think the Ipod is a great gaming machine, sony PSP should be a bit worried.

But the not so good thing about getting stuff for the ipod requires you to go thru itunes and itunes require you to register and key in your credit card details so I had not registered myself yet, but i think i will do so soon.
